San Francisco, Calif. — Exigen Group today announced the launch of the Harris County District Clerk's e-Docs System. The system provides an automated self-service channel providing public access to thousands of orders and judgments in cases filed within Harris County Civil District Courts.
Leveraging Exigen's Document Management Solution, part of its e-government suite, Harris County District Clerk was able to automate processes, facilitate online requests for court orders and judgments, and administer the electronic storage for approximately six million court documents. Exigen's solution creates an image and stores documents for convenient retrieval from a virtual library. Requests for documents are received from a custom designed web-based front-end, and automatically processed through to the back-office, facilitating the immediate retrieval of the document. With PC and credit card in hand, the public may search from an electronic archive, request a document; choose delivery via fax, email, Internet download or even regular mail. What used to take hours and required a physical visit to the courthouse, now takes minutes from any home or office computer.
"Our goal is to provide one stop shopping for the public", said Charles Bacarisse, Harris County District Clerk. "I've been pushing for this effort since before I took office. The office was drowning in paper and I wanted to make the office more user-friendly and efficient. With Exigen's solution, we have significantly reduced the labor-intensive tasks for clerical personnel and improved service to the general public."
By aligning business challenges and goals Exigen combines business process technology and industry specific methodology to deliver solutions that dramatically reduce the cost of operations and improve cutomer service. "Harris County wanted to deliver innovation and improve efficiency in the service they provided to the public. We're pleased to work with Charles Bacarisse and his team to make their vision a reality. Improving information access anytime, anywhere for the public, attorneys, and the courts represents a real step forward in service delivery to the public sector", said Greg Shenkman, CEO and Co-founder of Exigen.
Exigen solutions for the Public Sector give constituents faster and easier access to information and direct services, while providing public sector enterprises with greater productivity, speed, reduced costs and a platform to introduce new automated services. Exigen's e-government solutions dovetail the company's overarching capabilities in delivering industry specific Business Process Utilities.
