Unlocking the Economic Value of IT

Exigen Expands Eastern European Outsourcing Operation

San Francisco, Calif. — Exigen Group today announced that it has opened a new office in Vilnius, Lithuania, further expanding its access to top technical talent from throughout Eastern Europe. Exigen Group is a global business process solutions company focused on lowering the total cost of operations for financial services, insurance, communications and other service firms.

The US-based firm, which is already the leading provider of technical talent from the Baltic states, has been actively expanding its Eastern European footprint in recent months. Today's announcement follows on the heels of an agreement between Exigen and Moscow State University (MSU), announced at the recent Putin/Bush Summit in May, that will create a multi-million dollar IT technology, research and development center on the MSU campus and provide access to top MSU engineers.

"Lithuania's technology industry plays a key role in the country's strategy to build increasingly strong relationships with EU and NATO member nations," said Juozas Zalatorius, Director of the Information Society Development Committee under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania. "We are pleased that a US-based technology company like Exigen has established operations in Lithuania and is committed to continued growth in the area."

"Leveraging offshore resources can not only reduce costs, it can also improve productivity and quality. That is why we're seeing tremendous growth in the use of offshore resources among the Global 2000," remarked Rita Terdiman, vice president at Gartner. "Eastern Europe is seeing increased demand from both US and Western European businesses wishing for a European base, or to diversify across a number of geographies. Exigen has assembled a sizeable pool of quality talent in Eastern Europe and is well positioned to capitalize on this trend."

"The expansion of our Eastern European outsourcing operation is in direct response to the growing demand for our services," said Alex Poberezhsky, General Manager for Exigen's Eastern European application maintenance and development outsourcing operations. "Leveraging highly skilled, best-cost resources from throughout the region enables us to reduce the cost of operations and technology ownership for our service industry customers."

Exigen's Eastern European operations are headquartered in Riga, Latvia, where the company employs over 250 software development, professional services and outsourcing personnel. In addition to providing traditional outsourcing services, these resources support Exigen's development of Business Process Utilities (BPUs), which enable firms in a given industry to share a single process infrastructure, thereby driving economies of scale in common business practices.
